Prostate Cancer Prevention - Time To Start Is Now!

Prostate Cancer Prevention: Mention of the word prostate cancer can strike fear into the heart of all men. The need for knowledge of prostate cancer prevention methods are a priority in these instances.

A recent survey disclosed that more than 70% of the global population stated that they would prefer to pass on for any other reason or illness rather than prostate cancer.

Without going into too many fine details, men who were interviewed stated that if they were to be diagnosed with cancer they would eminently prefer that it not be cancer of the prostrate gland, one of , if not the most sensitive parts of the male anatomy.

Increasingly more for this reason males are becoming considerably aware of the need for prostate cancer prevention.

Males over the age of fifty should present themselves at least once a year for a screening, with certain sectors being advised to carry out an annual screening every six months or so from the onset of fifty upwards. These are males whose statistics have set them apart as being in a main risk category.

These categories are genetic, race, and age group. A strong example are males whose family members have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, meaning that they have a greater risk of developing the disease themselves.

African American males, possibly as a result of the high fat diet they adhere to possesses the increased likelihood of developing prostate cancer. Finally, men who have reached the age of sixty five upwards have to keep an especially watchful eye for any signs of the disease

Increasing the chance of preventing prostate gland cancer through a proper diet

The way we eat can play a very positive role in the prevention of the onset of prostrate gland cancer, probably more so than cancer in any of its other forms.

Increasing awareness of the damage that a person can do to his health by maintaining a diet based around an intake of salt, sugar, fat, saturated fat and cholesterol is now commonplace.

As well as running a high risk of being diagnosed with prostrate cancer, the statistical risk of suffering from heart disease is also very high through this diet, described as the bane of the Western World.

To stand a chance of preventing the onset of prostate cancer, major mindset changes have to be made. Deep fried foods out; fresh fruits and vegetables in - should be the rule.

There can be no escaping that fact that men whose diet is based around daily servings of boiled lean meat , fatty fish or boiled chicken and fresh vegetables reduce their chances of developing prostate cancer considerably.

Also, who ever said that an apple a day keeps the doctor away also meant the doctor who treats prostrate cancer sufferers.

Prostate Cancer Prevention through proper nutrients and minerals,
Proper diet is not the only way to decrease the possibility of prostate cancer. Intake of healthy nutrients, minerals and vitamins will also go a long way.

Regular intake of the selenium mineral as well as most major vitamins has shown to be very positive in the prevention of the onset of prostate gland cancer.
